SUPPLY OF GARDEN READY PLANTS AND TUBERS FOR 2025

WE WLL BE SUPPLYING

GARDEN READY PLANTS IN 11CM POTS 

£7.00 EACH

Large plants grown in peat free compost in11cm pots .These plants will give you full flowering in the first year and produce a tuber by the end of the season. Customers will be contacted from the beginning of June when there order is ready for collection from the nursery, either by phone or email (check your spam box). POSTAL ORDERS FOR GARDEN READY PLANTS.

We shall be taking orders for garden ready plants to be posted,

The plants will be grown in 9cm pots, £7.00  each and a standard charge of £10.50 for any amount posted. The plants will be posted first class (Royal Mail) from the beginning of June onwards. All plants are carefully packed, so that they arrive in good condition, ready for you to plant out. Please contact us immediately if any plants fail to satisfy on arrival. We will replace or refund the full cost of the plants only, not the postage providing the plants are returned straight away.

We do not contact customers when there order is being posted, so please make sure we are notified of any holidays etc around the beginning of June.

HOW TO ORDER

Orders can be placed from mid August 2024 until the end of March 2024. All orders will be acknowledged by email if provided. Orders must be placed from our  dahlia catalogue   page.

PLACING OF ORDERS FOR PLANTS AND TUBERS CAN BE DONE IN THE FOLLOWING WAY.

Please fill out and return the order form, which can be downloaded.

Or the order can be placed on any piece of paper with all the details we require which can be found on our order form and returned by post or in person to the nursery along with payment/debit card which will be charged on receipt of order.

Cheques made payable to Gilberts Nursery.

Orders can be emailed with full details including all the information we have asked for on our order form  and we will contact you for payment.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU WISH TO PLACE AN ORDER FOR TUBERS AND PLANTS TO BE POSTED ,TUBERS ARE DISPATCHED IN FEBRUARY AND PLANTS IN JUNE, SO THERE WOULD NEED TO BE  2 POSTAL CHARGES.

SUBSTITUTES

In the event a variety is unavailable at the time of dispatch then we reserve the right to substitute with a similar alternative unless specified as no substitutes on the order form. We will always try to match the variety as close as possible.

Dahlia Tubers

Most people associate growing dahlias from a tuber, so we have increasing our tuber

production along with the number of varieties produced on our own land. All tubers will be

lifted by hand at the end of the season, unlike other countries which use machines for lifting

which can damage and spread virus to the tubers. Our tubers come in various sizes, this is

down to the variety or the weather conditions the previous growing season .

But a tuber the size of a thumb nail will  give just as many flowers as a large tuber (size does not matter)

Our tubers are £5.95 each unless stated, and a standard charge of £8.95 for p&p for any

amount posted. Orders can also be collected from the nursery.

Please note our tubers are supplied in brown paper bags with a label and information sheet.

HOW TO ORDER TUBERS

We have lifted and cleaned our tubers, and have added the varieties available to our

WEBSITE

DAHLIA CATALOGUE PAGE .  This has been be done by adding the word tuber to

the existing text (plant) under the picture of the variety on the website eg (PLANT/TUBER).

Should the variety not be available as a tuber it would not be too late to order garden ready

plants instead.

A TUBER AVAILABILITY LIST CAN BE EMAILED IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCESS THE WEBSITE. 

PRE-ORDERS FOR TUBERS CAN BE COLLECTED FROM THE NURSERY OR THERE IS A STANDARD CHARGE OF £8.95 FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TUBERS POSTED.

FROM THE END OF FEBRUARY WE WILL HAVE TUBERS AVAILABLE FOR SALE AT THE NURSERY FOR ANYONE NOT WISHING TO PREORDER TUBERS.
